We will gather in Nelson, BC (north of Spokane, WA) for our annual showcase of forest pathology! Behold the green splendor of the Kootenay-Selkirk forests. Refresh yourself in the pristine lakes. Nelson is a small vibrant artsy community surrounded by stunning nature and recreational prospects. For its small size, Nelson affords impressive amenities including a city bus system, sidewalk musicians, dozens of restaurants, three microbreweries, beaches, mountain biking, and much more.
We will join with our colleagues to share emerging information pertinent to forest health. Some topics especially relevant to this area include western redcedar decline, drought, foliar diseases, Armillaria root disease, and white pine blister rust.
If you are coming from outside Canada – good news – the weak Canadian dollar (aka ‘the loonie’) will help your dollar strreeeettcchhh!
A block of rooms are available here under the “Forest Pathology” conference rate (single $185 CAD + tax).
More details will be forthcoming with an updated website.
